While photographing a wedding on the Big Island of Hawaii, I was told that you could drive around the entire island in a day, which included making stops to eat, shop and just hang out. So naturally as a photographer I said, ROAD TRIP!!! We made stops at The Royal Kona Coffee Company (coffee heaven!!!), in Historic Downtown Hilo, where we ate lunch at Cafe’ Pesto (best local beer on the island!!!) , Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, Hawaii Tropical Botanical Gardens and my favorite stop – Punalu’u Black Sand Beach. Here is a photo journal of the trip. Enjoy!

My new Hawaiian friend sporting the “Hang Loose” sign while wearing a Tabasco t-shirt. The shirt reads “Laissez les bons temps rouler”, a term I grew up with being from South Louisiana. For those who don’t know, it means “Let the good times roll”.
